This Tesla Model Y came to us for complete full-car Paint Protection Film, giving the owner physical protection across the painted exterior rather than limiting coverage to the front of the vehicle.
Full-car PPF is particularly useful for owners who want protection against stone chips, light scratches, minor scuffs and the everyday marks that can accumulate through regular use.
For this installation we used our premium ultra-clear ProFilm UCP12 self-healing PPF, carrying a manufacturer warranty of up to 12 years.
Owners considering anything from individual panels through to complete vehicle coverage can find more information on our Tesla detailing and PPF service page.
A good PPF installation starts well before the film is applied.
The Model Y was thoroughly cleaned and decontaminated before installation to ensure the film was being applied to properly prepared surfaces.
The Tesla badges at the front and rear were removed rather than simply cutting around them. Replacement badges could then be installed over the completed film, avoiding unnecessary exposed edges around the emblems.
Wherever the panel design allowed, film edges were extended and wrapped to make the completed installation as discreet as possible.
You can read more about how we install self-healing film on our main Paint Protection Film service page.
Rather than protecting only the bumper and bonnet, full-car PPF extends protection to the doors, rear quarters, tailgate and other painted exterior panels.
This can be particularly useful on darker Tesla finishes where light surface marking can become considerably more noticeable.
The self-healing top layer can recover from many fine surface marks when warmed by sunlight or gentle heat, helping the protected finish remain easier to maintain over time.
Full-car coverage isn't essential for every Tesla. We also offer targeted, Front Bumper, Full F and Track Pack PPF depending on how the vehicle is used and the areas you want to protect.
This Model Y was also fitted with AlloyGators to help protect the edges of its 21-inch Uberturbine wheels from kerb damage.
It extended the protection beyond the bodywork while keeping the appearance of the wheels largely unchanged.
All of our Tesla PPF installations are completed in-house at our studio near Reading and Wokingham.
Whether you have a Model Y, Model 3, Model S or Model X, we can recommend a level of protection based on the car, your mileage and how long you intend to keep it.
