Restoring an Older Porsche 911

Not every Porsche that comes through our studio is factory-fresh.

This Porsche 997 required a more restorative approach, combining substantial paint correction with replacement Paint Protection Film, headlight restoration and cosmetic brake-caliper work.

Older cars can require a very different approach from newly delivered vehicles, which is why our wider Porsche detailing and paint protection service is based around inspecting the individual vehicle first.

Multi-Stage Porsche Paint Correction

The 911 received multiple stages of machine correction followed by further refinement to restore clarity and gloss to the finish.

Older Porsche paintwork can have a complicated history. Previous polishing, repairs and years of washing can all affect how an individual panel should be treated.

Our approach is therefore to achieve the required improvement while preserving as much healthy paint as possible rather than automatically pursuing every last defect.

Replacing Old Porsche PPF

The original rear-arch Paint Protection Film had deteriorated with age and begun to fade and yellow.

These sections were removed and replaced with modern ultra-clear self-healing PPF carrying a manufacturer warranty of up to 12 years.

Rear-quarter protection is particularly relevant on many Porsche models because the body shape can leave these areas exposed to debris thrown from the front tyres.

The headlights were also restored before being protected with new PPF.

Porsche Brake Caliper Refinishing

To complete the cosmetic transformation, the brake calipers were refinished in black and finished with contrasting white Porsche-style decals beneath the lacquer.
