If you are looking at ceramic coating, you have probably seen everything from £200 driveway jobs to “lifetime” packages from dealerships and £2000 details from professionals. It can be difficult to work out what is actually worth paying for and what is just marketing.
The truth is simple. A ceramic coating is only as good as the preparation, the environment it is applied in, and how the car is maintained afterwards. This guide breaks down what you actually get from our service and what you should realistically expect.
We offer three main long-term options depending on your goals, how long you plan to keep the car, and how it is used day to day.
This is our highest durability option. It is designed for owners who want the strongest level of long-term protection and are planning to keep the car for several years.
This option suits cars that are used regularly and exposed to the elements, but where the owner still wants the best possible finish and protection.
It is a two part coating consisting of a tough base coat and an additional top coat product. Because this is a two part product, it does take extra time to apply.

This is the most popular option for daily driven vehicles. It offers a strong balance between cost, performance, and longevity.
For most owners, this is the sensible choice. It delivers the benefits people expect from ceramic coating without pushing into diminishing returns.
A 3 year ceramic coating sits below the 5 and 7 year options, but it still has a place depending on how the car is used and what you want from it.
You still get the visual improvement and easier maintenance, which is what most people are looking for.
This is the part most people underestimate.
A ceramic coating does not improve paint on its own. It preserves and locks in whatever condition the paint is in at the point of application. If the paint is full of swirl marks or contamination, that is exactly what gets sealed in.
Before any coating is applied, we carry out a full preparation process:
Even on new cars, this stage is essential. Factory paint often contains defects, transport marks, and contamination that need addressing.
Skipping or rushing this stage is the biggest reason coatings fail early or do not perform as expected.

There is a big difference between applying a coating outside on a driveway and applying it in a controlled indoor environment.
Mobile detailers can offer convenience, but there are limitations that cannot be avoided.
These factors all impact the final result, even if the same product is used.
We have 3 individual work bays, each fully equipped with a ramp and specialist lighting for the best results we can achieve. On average, we work on cars between 2 and 5 days.
This is not about making things sound more premium. It directly affects how the coating bonds, how it looks, and how long it lasts.

This is where expectations need to be realistic.
In real-world UK conditions, most ceramic coatings will deliver strong performance for around 2 to 4 years on a daily driven car that is parked outside. That is the honest answer, regardless of what the label says.
Longer-rated coatings are built differently. They typically have stronger chemical resistance and a more durable chemical structure.
That means:
Even if they do not reach the full advertised lifespan in every case, they still outperform shorter-term coatings over the same period.
The key point is this. Maintenance and usage matter just as much as the coating itself.

We are not exclusively tied to one single brand. Being honest, most coatings perform quite similarly, however we tend to regularly work with:
All of these brands produce high-quality coatings with proven results.
The difference in results rarely comes down to the label on the bottle.
What actually matters is:
That is what determines how the coating performs over time.
When people look at ceramic coating pricing, it is easy to assume you are paying mainly for the product itself. In reality, the coating material is not the most expensive part of the process.
Based on our pricing structure, ceramic coating packages are built around the level of preparation and correction required before anything is applied. The coating itself is a relatively small part of the overall cost.
The real value in the service comes from the time spent preparing the paint properly. Every vehicle goes through a detailed process that includes safe washing, deep cleaning, decontamination, and machine polishing to remove defects and refine the finish before any coating is applied.
In some cases this can be over 40 hours of labour!
This is also why prices vary depending on the condition of the vehicle. A well-kept car with light defects will require less correction time compared to a heavily swirled or neglected vehicle.
As a ball park figure, most of our entry level single stage paint correction and 3 year ceramic coating starts from £650 including VAT and can go to around £1500 for a Multi stage correction with upgraded ceramic coatings.
Ultimately, ceramic coating pricing reflects the level of preparation required to achieve a long-lasting, high-quality finish rather than the cost of the coating bottle itself.

We are based in Berkshire, covering:
Our unit is set up specifically for safe washing, paint correction, ceramic coating and paint protection film application in a controlled environment.

We regularly have customers travelling in from outside the immediate area. Recently, that has included:
Why do people travel, sometimes for several hours, to us? In most cases, it comes down to trust and consistency. Customers are willing to travel when they want a higher standard of preparation and finish rather than a quick turnaround.
In our opinion, yes! The proof is in the pudding, we have ceramic coatings on our own vehicles
Ceramic coating makes a noticeable difference when it is done properly.
You can expect:
What it will not do is make the car maintenance-free or completely scratch-proof.
If you are expecting a one-time treatment that eliminates all upkeep, it will fall short. If you want a long-term improvement in how your car looks and how easy it is to maintain, it delivers.

Ceramic coating is often overcomplicated or oversold. In reality, it is a simple concept done well or done poorly.
The difference comes down to:
Get those right, and even a 3 year coating will perform strongly for several years. Get them wrong, and even the most expensive product will not deliver.
Ceramic coating and Paint Protection Film (PPF) are often confused, but they do different jobs.
Ceramic coating is a liquid layer that improves gloss, adds chemical resistance, and makes the car easier to wash. It does not protect against physical damage.
PPF is a clear protective film applied over the paint. It protects against stone chips, road debris, and light scratches by acting as a physical barrier. Modern PPF is also self-healing, meaning light swirl marks and fine scratches can disappear with heat from the sun or warm water, giving that "perfectly polished" look without any effort.
In simple terms:
You can also combine both. The most effective setup is usually PPF on high-impact areas like the front bumper, bonnet, and wings, with ceramic coating applied over the rest of the car. This gives you chip protection where it matters most, plus easier cleaning and improved finish across the whole vehicle.
If you'd like to learn more about PPF you can read more here.

No. It offers minor resistance to light wash marring but will not prevent physical damage from contact.
Yes. The coating reduces how strongly dirt sticks, but regular washing is still required to maintain the finish.
Yes, and it is one of the best times to do it. However, new cars still require preparation as they often arrive with defects and contamination from transport and storage.
Yes, and in most cases a used car benefits even more from ceramic coating than a brand new one.
The difference is condition. Used cars have typically been:
Because of that, preparation becomes even more important.
