This BMW M4 arrived at our studio as a brand-new vehicle, transported directly from the supplying BMW dealership with much of its original protective wrapping still in place.
The aim was to protect the vehicle before regular road use began.
Rather than choosing only front-end protection, the owner opted for complete full-car BMW PPF, together with additional protection for the windscreen, wheels, interior and iDrive display.
You can explore our wider approach to M cars on our BMW detailing, ceramic coating and PPF page.
A new car does not simply have film applied immediately after arrival.
The M4 first received a thorough clean and preparation. Selected components were then removed, including the M Performance rear spoiler, door handles, front-wing vents and badges where appropriate.
This gives us greater access around panel edges and allows the PPF to extend into areas that would otherwise remain visible.
For newly delivered vehicles, we can combine this approach with our wider New Car Protection service.
The painted bodywork was protected with ultra-clear ProFilm UCP12, including appropriate gloss-black sections and the carbon-fibre rear diffuser.
Patterns were plotted in-house using our Graphtec FC9000 and adjusted where required to increase coverage and hide edges wherever practical.
The boot required a more bespoke installation.
The standard pattern called for a seam because of the factory boot-lip spoiler. We instead completed the panel using a one-piece installation, eliminating the join and producing a cleaner finished surface.
More information about Full Front, Track Pack and full-car protection is available through our Paint Protection Film service.
The wheels were removed and ceramic coated using Gyeon RIM EVO.
A matte PPF protector was also fitted to the iDrive display to reduce fingerprints and glare, while ProFilm EXW75 windscreen film was applied to provide additional protection from road debris.
Once the body PPF was complete, the exterior was protected with Labocosmetica HPC Pro ceramic coating.
Ceramic coatings can also be applied as a standalone service or combined with PPF. You can explore the options on our Ceramic Coating page.
This project demonstrates how comprehensive new-car protection can be when the aim is to preserve the vehicle from its first miles.
Full-car PPF isn't necessary for every BMW owner, so Full Front and Track Pack packages are also available.
